Articles of agreement made and entered into this eighteenth day of April Eighteen hundred and thirty four. Between Thomas Brooks of the one part of the County of Hawkins and State of Tennessee and Absalom Kyle of the County and State aforesaid of the other part
Witnesseth, that whereas the above named parties have this day agreed to make a conditional line between their tracts of land lying in the County of Hawkins and Sate of Tennessee, and on the waters of Clouds Creek, and said Conditional line lying west of Said Kyles dwelling House and East of sd Brooks dwelling House. Beginning at the cross fence between said Thomas Brooks and Absalom Kyle, on a white oak a post oak and running thence with said fence South thirty four Degrees East fifty five poles crossing the main Stage road to a white oak near said road, thence South twenty seven degrees west two poles to a Black oak, thence South twenty two Degrees East twenty four poles to Cucumber tree, thence South thirty Degrees East eighty two poles to a red oak small Hickory and Ash on the top of the River knob and it is further understood and agreed on by both parties, that said Brooks relinquishes all his right and title, that he has to the land lying East of the described conditional line, to said Kyle and his Heirs forever. And said Kyle relinquishes all his right and title that has to the land lying west of the described conditional line to said Brooks and his Heirs forever. In Witness whereof we Thomas Brooks & Absalom Kyle have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals the day and date first above written.

Personally appeared before me Willie B Mitchell clerk of the Circuit Court of Hawkins County Wilson Brooks and William C Kyle subscribing witnesses to the within named articles of agreement who being first Sworn depose and say that they are acquainted with Thomas Brooks and Absalom Kyle the Bargainers and that they acknowledjed the same in their presence to be their act and Deed upon the day it bears date Witness my hand at office this 9th day of September A D 1834
