Henry was born about 1769 in Botetourt County, Virginia. He married August 14, 1787 in Winchester, Fredrick County, Virginia by Reverend Alexander Balmain. Shortly, Henry had land in Bedford County, Virginia, but he traveled alone to Cloud Creek , Choptack Community, Hawkins County, Tennessee where he bought 200 acres of land. He put the crops out, then in 1808 returned to Bedford County, Virginia to retreive his family but he contacted typhoid and died before he could return to Tennessee. His wife and children moved on to Tennessee. I don't know what happened to the land in Bedford County.
This inventory of his possessions is interesting as it shows what a person may have taken with him when traveling in the early 1800's, and what Henry Price considered necessary to carry with him in his travels

The following is a quote from Joe Wallen of Johnson City, Tennessee:
"Several of us on line researchers have developed several theories as to
Henry's ancestry, but none are proven. The most likely conclusion is that
Henry was a son of a Prussian deserter from the Revolutionary War. The
British brought about 15,000 Prussians over as mercenaries but only about
9,000 returned to Prussia after the War. The remainder decided to stay in
America and were taken in by persons of German descent and hidden from
authorities, particularly those Germans living in Pennsylvania. The Wax
(Wachs) family originally settled in Berks Co, PA and moved from there to
Frederick Co, VA. We think our Henry Price may have come to Virginia with
the Wax family and married Catherine after the death of her first husband,
Devault Boyer."
