    John was born about 1792 in Randolph County, North Carolina. He married in December 1825 in Burke County, North Carolina and died December 18, 1878 in Poor Valley, Hawkins County, Tennessee. He was buried in McGinnis Cemetery, Spruce Pine, Hawkins Co, Tennessee.

    1)Mary "Poly" Bean: Born in Burke County, North Carolina, June 21, 1826. Married Anderson "Ans" Yount, Sr. ca. 1855-6. She died ca.1915. Four children (all born in Tennessee): Harriet Yount, Sarah Yount, Nancy Jane Yount, and Mack Daniel Yount (April 21, 1861 - May 11, 1945) married Martha Adeline Heck, Margaret Elizabeth Heck's sister.

    2)Jemima Bean: Born in Burke County, North Carolina, February 18, 1829. Married John M. Pearson ca. 1850. She died 1920. Ten children (all born in Tennessee): Richard Christopher Pearson, May Jane Pearson, Alice "Alley" Pearson, John Jackson Pearson, William Asa Pearson, Henry Pearson, George Pearson, Susan M. Pearson, Stokley "Stoke" Brownlo Pearson, and Sara Pearson.

    3)Jane Bean: Born in Burke County, North Carolina, December 1, 1830. Married Jeff Wilder. Death date unknown. No known children.

    4)George Washington Bean Sr.: Born in Burke County, North Carolina, May 6, 1833. Married Sarah Hammons. He died in Sneedville, Tennessee 1860-1.
       George a lumber merchant, was killed in Sneedville when a load of lumber fell on him. Sarah was pregnant when he was killed. She died giving birth to his child, leaving four small children to be raised by relatives: Manda J. Bean, Maryann M. Bean, Elizabeth Bean, and George Washington Bean Jr.

    Note:From information I received from Jason David Marbut, atleast George Washington Bean Jr. was raised by Susan Bean and George Price. George Washington Bean Jr. later settled near Parker in Johnson County, Texas.

    5)William Peyton Bean: Born in Burke County, North Carolina, February 5, 1835. Married Nancy Brooks (1840-1893) who was the grand daughter of  Thomas Brooks  January 7, 1860. He died shortly before 1900. He and Nancy are buried on the Kenneth Brooks Farm Cemetery in Cuba, Tennessee in unmarked graves. All of their children were born at Bunker Hill, Hawkins County, Tennessee: William Jackson "Beadie" Bean, Eli Washington Bean, J. I. Bean, M. V. Bean, Leah E. Bean, Alice "Leir" Bean, Mary Isabelle "Belle" Bean, James Columbus "Clum" Bean, Georgia A. "Anner" Bean, and Emoner Newton "Emmer" Bean.

    6)John Hall Bean: Born in Mooresburg, Hawkins County, Tennessee, January 14, 1837. He fought in the Civil War and was shot in the neck at the Battle of Mossy Creek on December 28, 1863 and went to his brother William Peyton Bean to recuperate. Married 1st Sarah Leah Brooks (1839-1870) in 1865 who was also a grand daughter of  Thomas Brooks . She was the widow of Eli Williams and she had 4 children by Eli when she married John: Cornelius Williams, Robert Williams and Lafetette Williams. With Sarah Leah, he had 4 children: Thomas Jefferson Bean, James Monroe Bean, Arthur Emanuel Bean and Addie Irene Bean. He again married Mary Ann Martin in Cleburne, Texas 1875. He and Mary Ann had 2 children in Cleburne: Henry Burley Bean and Molly Vergie Bean. He died in LeFlore County, Oklahoma May 23, 1918.

    7)Elizabeth "Lizzy" Bean: Born in Mooresburg, Hawkins County, Tennessee, January 21, 1839. Married Daniel Henry Parrott. Daniel was a

    Elizabeth and Daniel had 3 children: Henry Daniel Parrott, Ruth Parrott, and Cordalia Parrott. Elizabeth died in Big Stone Gap, Wise County, Virginia. No death date.

    8)Columbus "Clum" Bean: Born in Mooresburg, Hawkins County, Tennessee, July 27, 1843. There is no record he ever married. He was killed in the Civil War. He fought for the Union and died at Camp Dennison, Ohio December 4, 1862 at age 19.

    10)Lidy Martelia Bean: Born in Mooresburg, Hawkins County, Tennessee, January 1, 1846. Married George Wilder III. They had 5 children: George Wilder IV, Mary Wilder, Jemima Wilder (who married Kester Drinnon), Cordelia Wilder, and Ida Belle Wilder. Lidy died April 11, 1937.

    11)Alice "Alley" Bean: Born in Mooresburg, Hawkins County, Tennessee, June 16, 1849. Died in infantcy.

    12)Nancy Ann Bean: Born in Mooresburg, Hawkins County, Tennessee, June 21, 1852. Married William Price, son of  James Davis Price  and  Sarah Drinnon. They had 10 children: George Brownlo Price (married Hallie Price), Hiram Price, Columbus Price, Martelia Price, Nora Price, James Price, John Price, Appleton Price, Susan Price, and Mattie Magdaline Price. Nancy died 1939.

    13)Sarah Serena Bean: Born in Mooresburg, Hawkins County, Tennessee 1848. Married Pleasant "Ples" Lawson. No death date for Sarah.
